Harnwell: No-one says “The Great Replacement” — but is it the underlying cause of the French riots?

I believe we are witnessing in France a “Thucydides’ Trap” type dynamic as applied *on an intra-national* level.

The Thucydides’ Trap is normally applied to the resulting war as an ascendent nation rubs up against the declining hegemon it is about to replace. But here, I don’t mean rival nations, I’m talking about rival demographics within the same nation.

The French riots are the product of the frustration of an ascendant demographic rubbing up against the declining demographic as it descends.
