Shaken by Hate: Quran Burning Incident Exposes Tensions in Sweden

In a recent incident that has sparked outrage across the #muslim world, an Iraqi immigrant named Salwan Momika held a Quran-burning demonstration outside a mosque in Stockholm, Sweden. Momika, who had been prevented from holding a similar rally earlier, started the demonstration with a group of supporters. The #swedish police had granted him a permit in line with free-speech protections, but authorities later opened an investigation over "agitation". The #quran burning was condemned by many Muslim-majority countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
