Studio Photography Lighting: How to Build a Softbox (Tutorial)

Might seem silly, but if you've never set up a softbox, you're usually caught wrestling it into submission in a very ungraceful way. Here’s how to put together a softbox.

I used the Profoto 2x3 softbox: https://adorama.rfvk.net/Q1oV9 but the concept of putting it together can be pretty much applied to anything with a speeding like this.

Here are the basics of how to assemble a softbox and take a softbox apart. Though I didn't show how to fully assemble the light kit straight from scratch out of the bag since this is probably more a video for photo assistants that wouldn't be doing that. But if you are trying to put together a softbox from scratch then just put the the sticks in the corners with the color side up towards the speedring.
