Hands-Free Law now in Effect | Thursday, June 29, 2023, | News 19 at 6 p.m.

A new Hands-Free law is now in effect in Alabama, meaning it's now illegal in most circumstances for people to hold a cell phone while behind the wheel. The new law went into effect when it crossed the Governor's desk on June 14th, but drivers who break the law won't immediately be cited.
