Several tweets from the Department of Defense promoted a transgender soldier online days before Fourth of July. Social media erupted because of it this past weekend, reaching more than 8 millions views on Twitter. According to Daily Wire, a spokesman for the Department of Defense defended their policies. They said that they hope to address "potential barriers or discrepancies, and – fundamentally – ensuring people are treated with dignity and respect."
