🟦 AARC stands for:
American Association for Respiratory Care
It’s the primary nonprofit organization that supports Respiratory Therapists in the United States. It's also the leading international professional association for respiratory care as well. During the 1980s, the AARC began to require state licensure and credentials for Respiratory Therapists offered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). This set forth certain educational requirements and competencies that must be acquired and maintained in order to practice respiratory care in a particular state. Each prospect must earn a passing score on the credentialing examinations that are offered by the NRBC. Also, state licensing boards require that a certain number of continuing education credits must be obtained in order to keep a license active over a period of time.
➡️ The mission statement of the AARC is:
To encourage and promote professional excellence, advance the science and practice of respiratory care, and serve as an advocate for patients, their families, the public, the profession, and the Respiratory Therapist. Respiratory Therapy Zone is not sponsored by or affiliated with the AARC in any way. This video is for educational and informational purposes only. To learn more, go to AARC.org.
