➡️ Bad Posture Overview
The physical positioning of being slouched and hunching over can have negative effects on your lungs and make it more difficult to breathe. A high percentage of adults have poor posture which can, over time, result in fatigue, back pain, and, as I mentioned, weaker lungs. It causes compression within the thoracic cavity which means that the lungs will not be able to expand as much as they normally would. It means that your body may not be able to take in enough oxygen which can negatively impact all of the other organs and systems of the body.

➡️ Bad Posture Causes
Sitting for a long period of time is one of the primary causes of poor posture. Over time, the forces of gravity work to pull your neck and shoulder muscles downward. This causes compression and tightness in the thoracic region which affects the functionality of both the diaphragm and lungs. By maintaining a healthy, upright posture, the lungs can fully expand and your body can get the required amount of oxygen that it needs.

➡️ Effects on the Heart
Poor posture can have negative effects on the heart as well. Sloughing causes pressure in the neck muscles which sends signals to the brain that can alter blood supply and result in increased blood pressure levels.
