Biblical Hebrew Pronunciation

It is known that modern Hebrew is pronounced differently today due to assimilation during exile.

1 Corinthians 14:7Even in the case of lifeless instruments, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone recognize the tune they are playing unless the notes are distinct? 8Again, if the trumpet sounds a muffled call, who will prepare for battle? 9So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air

When pronounced incorrectly meanings can be changed. Sure, God understands, but confusion is not of God, so excuses should not be made if you know better.

How hard it is for those with riches to enter. For example if your foundation was built on the Messiah's name being 'Jesus' then it can be very difficult to give up what you relied on to change that pronunciation to 'Yehoshua.' You may associate this pronunciation with your pastor and all your upbringing as if you are letting all this go. But if there is anything we cling to then we are not worthy of Him.

I hope this encourages and inspires you, but if it is too much for you then do not feel condemned or discouraged. Don't worry. The first step is the biggest which is admitting the desire - the need. God does what we cannot.
