The mayor of L’Hay-les-Roses, in south Paris, oversaw the barricading of the suburb’s town hall on Friday, June 30, a day before his home was rammed and raided amid violent unrest across France over the fatal police shooting of a teenager last week. Later that night, demonstrators attempted to tear down the barricades. In the early hours of Sunday, July 2, Jeanbrun’s wife and one of his children were injured when people rammed his home with a car and set it alight, the mayor said in a statement.
