So there are some "Well Trained" people out there that believe grabbing the slide of your firearm and pulling the trigger will seriously injure your hand.

Unfortunately I would have to disagree and go ahead and show what actually happens.

This is actually a preferred method you use when it comes to protecting yourself if your in a clinch distance altercation fighting for control of a firearm with a reciprocating slide. Controlling the long axis of the firearm (slide, barrel etc).
♠️
If they do end up getting a round off, you will at least know that someone will have to clear the malfunction before the weapon will operate properly again.
