In May of 2020 Tucson had several riots that started after the George Floyd incident. Council Member Lane Santa Cruz was present and participated. This incident was not investigated and Santa Cruz got a pass. She later voted to defund the Police in Tucson and fire City Employees over vaccine mandates. TPD had a mass exodus of Officers and is now critically staffed. She is up for re election.
