Bryan Duran dispatched Gilberto Aguilar by way of a third-round TKO at BKFC 45.

‘El Gallo’ went down to 145 pounds for the first time as a pro fighter. This path was not without its issues as Duran went down more than he was supposed to. Duran felt like he overdid the weight cut and felt his legs gave up on him in the second stanza.

That being said, he took the whole thing as a learning experience and sees a smoother path going forward in terms of cutting down for this weight category.

In breaking down how the story of the bout unfurled, Duran said, “The truth was, I stood on business in the sense of, like, I listened to my coach, I was listening to my corner. I kept my hands up most of the time. Whenever I did put my hand down, my front hand down, I was trying to lead him in if you guys noticed.”

“Then towards the end, you could tell that I was starting to calm down a little more. I was catching shots and just hitting him with it. Let me tell you, that’s a really tough dude. I took his teeth out. I felt it when I broke his teeth and he was still trying to fight. So, hey, shout out to Aguilar, man. Gilberto, you’re a warrior, un campeon. For real, he really is a champion.”

Aguilar had never been finished in bare-knuckle boxing up until that point but Duran became the first to finish him inside the distance.

Bryan Duran trains alongside the number one pound-for-pound fighter in BKFC/ dual division titleholder Luis Palomino. Also, bare-knuckle fighting luminaries like ranked 145-pounder Howard Davis and former BKB champ/ BKFC lightweight title contender Tyler Goodjohn have sharpened their tools in that training space too.

Duran improved to 4-0 in bare-knuckle boxing now and has a one hundred percent finishing rate still. It seems like the sky’s the limit in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship for the 27-year-old fighting out of Miami.

Duran has the long-term focus of clashing with reigning featherweight champion Kai Stewart and specifically wants to beat him for the gold.
