What attacked the SM U-28 German U-boat in WWI? ⛴🌊🐊

During World War I, on April 30th 1918, German U-boat Commander, Captain Gunther Krech, told the British Navy of the HMS Coreopsis upon his surrender, that his disabled U-boat was attacked by a creature resembling a large Crocodile in the Irish Sea.
His description of the attacker matches a Mosasaur, an animal that has been extinct for millions of years.

For centuries, sailors on the Irish Sea have described sea monsters and unidentified creatures.
Is just just myth and misidentification?
