Twitter limits reading after people complain about the platform

Earlier on Saturday, tens of thousands of Twitter users had complained about issues with the platform, claiming they couldn't retrieve their tweets, their timelines had vanished, or their followers had vanished.

According to Down Detector, around 6,000 people reported troubles, and many of them tweeted about them. On the platform, the term "Twitterdown" was trending in the UK.

Users who attempted to access tweets said they received the warning "rate limit exceeded" instead.
