France riots see gunman open fire and weapons looted and 1,300 arrested while cities burn

France plunged deeper into turmoil today as the police killing of a teenager sparked a “war” that engulfed the nation.

Riot cops were forced to flee from gunfire, while a mob, fueled by rage, looted a gun shop and seized hunting rifles.

The situation escalated as police deployed armored vehicles and heavily armed paramilitary units to confront the gangs responsible for widespread devastation, the Daily Sun reported.

The chaos is expected to intensify following the funeral of Nahel Merzouk, the 17-year-old whose shooting triggered the crisis.
