Today, on July 1, 2023, we celebrate the 102nd anniversary of Dhaka University, which is the oldest university in Bangladesh located in Shahbagh, Dhaka.

This independent public research university was established in 1921, following the educational system of prestigious universities like Oxford and Cambridge.
Dhaka University was founded under the Dacca University Act 1920 of the Indian Legislative Council.
A generous man named Nawab Bahadur Sir Khwaja Salimullah donated 600 acres of land from his estate for the university's establishment.
It was designed to mirror British universities and started its educational program on July 1, 1921. At that time, it was known as the "Oxford of the East" due to its emphasis on maintaining high academic standards.
Today, Dhaka University is the largest public research university in Bangladesh.
Over the years, Dhaka University has played a significant role in shaping the modern history of Bangladesh.
It became a hub for progressive and democratic movements after the Partition of India.
We hope that students and teachers at Dhaka University will play an important and sincere role in promoting the development of a more democratic and environmentally friendly structure in Bangladesh.
We extend our best wishes to these courageous individuals from Time Printer.
