Jake Bostwick bested Erick Lozano by way of a unanimous decision in the co-main event at BKFC 45.

When asked for his thoughts on once again being in a co-headlining fight on a BKFC card, Bostwick said,

“I was excited. You know, I’m never in a boring fight. I’m always here to entertain and put on a show for everyone. I definitely feel I’ve done that again. Again (laughs).”

When going over the machinations of the matchup with Lozano, Bostwick stated, “Yeah, I just tried to be in and out, not get touched. Yeah, be explosive on the way in. Move my head a lot, which I did. Try to slip as many shots as I could. Just hit and not get hit, and I seemed to have done that, so. I got hit with some stuff, but nothing crazy.”

Bostwick felt comfortable fighting higher up at light heavyweight but said it’s a one-off as a 185-er. ‘Brutal’ feels it’s more fitting for him to be at 175 pounds and sees that as his natural division.

Bostwick feels like he’s had a super entertaining run across his six bare-knuckle fights and just fought out the last fight on his contract. He feels like he’s next in line for a title shot and feels he’s right up there at middleweight as Bostwick’s next aim is to re-sign with BKFC.

Jake Bostwick is normally a very composed, relaxed guy but feels that adrenaline rush as soon as he enters that ring. He is very big on mind-body communication and described past experiences with high anxiety where his legs wouldn’t properly work before fights.

Bostwick quipped that he could have a fight right then and there even after the Lozano battle but said he was chilling.

Also of note was Bostwick bringing in a mustache to his look now and he is aiming for a bushy, Tom Shoaff-tier upper lip garden eventually. Bostwick mentioned that he grows whiskers and that his facial hair takes a minute. But he’s willing to stay the course so his mustache climbs the pound-for-pound facial hair hierarchy in the sport.
