Our new backpacks

At Fire and ice outdoors we are committed to genuine quality. What dose “genuine quality” mean? Well unfortunately quality has become subjective. We still look at quality as objective. We feel quality is a universal standard and there is no skirting it. So, we are committed to the kind of quality you you can see and feel in our products. The kind of quality that starts with the right raw materials and ends with precision workmanship.

Quality in = Quality out! So, we use the best materials to start with. Below is a list of what we use to construct our gear.

Our 15oz commercial water resistant or waxed sail cloth and canvas. These fabrics are imported as “raw gray goods” and finished here. However, there are some USA made fabric options and we use them whenever we can.

As for hardware we use 100% brass or steel hardware. If it’s brass then the hardware will be marine grade. Steel hardware is always US Military Spec. This is because we know this hardware needs to work and take the abuse. Almost all of the grommets, snaps and rivets we use are made in NJ. As for the rest we make a real effort to isolate China from our supply line as possible. We believe we are somewhere around 95-97% China free supply.

Thread is 100% UV resistant outdoor thread.

CRAFTSMANSHIP MATTERS! We are very aware of this. So, we put craftsmanship first. Lot’s of folks say this few back it up. We will not make anything that is not right. We will not do low quality to hit a price point. We will however, gladly make it right every time.
