Zelenskyy rules out holding Presidential elections in Ukraine until it wins the war

If your country is in a war doesn’t democracy become more important than usual?

What if the people don’t like how Zelenskyy is managing the war, or maybe they want to elect somebody who will negotiate?

Shouldent they get a say? I thought we were here to “defend democracy”.
