LOST TREASURES - Winwick Giants & Great Battles (Series 1 - Episode 1) #archeology

Possibly the most remembered episode is the first which covers just the village of Winwick in Lancashire and admirably set the scene for all the episodes that followed. It has also been the only episode to be available on the internet to date.

Following the submission of a short 4 minute pilot in 2004, the first ever episode of Lost Treasures aired on ITV1 Granada at 7.30pm on Thursday 11 August 2005. The series then transferred to Sky History Channel and the first episode was aired at 5.00pm on Sunday 8 January 2006 and then repeated thereafter. Series One (6 Episodes) ended in 2005 with an amazing 26% of the North West viewing public tuning in. ITV Granada’s Lost Treasures then joined the top 6 national programs nominated by ITV News Group as ‘Popular Feature Program Of The Year’ at their top London awards ceremony. It enjoyed repeated international screenings on Sky History Channel (at some points running 3 times a day).
