Amazing Hardy Cactus Garden in Canada!

You may associate cactus with warmer climates, but some varieties grow nearly to the arctic circle and will withstand temperatures down into the -50 degrees range. I recently took a tour of Canada's largest hardy cactus garden courtesy of John and Kelly Schroeder in Naramata BC. I was impressed by the range of flower colors and other ornamental features. Their health and vigor in this demanding climate was truly impressive, and you'll also be able to see how valuable these plants are in supporting bees and butterflies.

If you loved any or all of these varieties, here's a link to their mail-order business selling the cactus pads (Canada only): https://www.naramatacactus.com/#/

Many thanks to John and Kelly for the tour and their hospitality. Apologies to viewers on the audio quality in places. I kept it down to one mic over concerns about wind noise. Turns out to have been a good call, but it also means that you'll barely hear my questions or comments in places.

Three tour videos in a row! It just turned out that way based on this month's schedule, but no worries... I'm back to topic videos for a while now.
