RARE “GLASS” OCTOPUS in the Pacific Ocean #nature #travel

Vitreledonella richardi, also known as the Glass Octopus, is a transparent, gelatinous, and almost colorless meso- to bathypelagic octopod found worldwide in tropical and subtropical seas.

This one was seen swimming near the Phoenix Islands in the Pacific Ocean. The entire octopus is clear except for its optic nerve, eyeballs and digestive tract.
