America’s Top 10 Hobbies - How Frugal Can They Be? - Ep 27
What are America's top 10 hobbies? Can they be frugal? In this episode of the HopeFilled Financial Podcast, we take a look at America's top 10 hobbies (according to Statista) and see ask if they are helping us maximize our happiness and utility per dollar.
Most popular hobbies & activities in the U.S. as of March 2023: https://www.statista.com/statistics/997050/most-popular-hobbies-and-activities-in-the-us/
In the story today, Jay shares the most expensive hobby he has ever had - bowling! How expensive do you think a proper bowling ball costs a competitive bowler? How expensive is the practice required to become a 200 average tournament competitor?
The budget tip of the day is to make a line item for your hobbies so that you can see how much they are costing you, OR give yourself permission to spend what you want on your hobbies. Hobbies can become illusive if we don't call them out specifically in our budgets. Giving them a home and a name in our financial plan is a prudent step. Your wallet and Robbie health will thank you.
The listener question asks if it is wrong to be wealthy. Jay's answer may surprise you. Do you think it is wrong to be wealthy?
