One of the surest ways to torpedo a pastor’s career is for a former pastor of that church to be a member there after his retirement. Though this can bring various benefits to everyone, often it fosters rivalry between the two leaders, and the congregation eventually splits into factions: one group following the current pastor, and one preferring the former. But if you think THAT sounds like a mess, imagine it happening to a church that boasts more than one BILLION members! Since we’re finally on the road this week, making our Great Relocation a reality, we are re-broadcasting another episode from Season One, called “God’s Rottweiler,” which aired shortly following the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI in early 2023.
