The Titan, operated by the private American company OceanGate, disappeared in international waters in the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. This vessel was on a tourist trip to see the wreck of the Titanic with five passengers. Communication with this vessel was cut off with the mother ship one hour and 45 minutes after it dived to the sinking site, and the authorities also reported that it did not appear at its scheduled time that day. It was estimated that the ship's four-day supply of breathable air had probably run out on the morning of June 22, 2023 local time.
