On Christmas Eve, 1971, Walt Disney World would open up Flight to the Moon, one of the two attractions that would inspire Epcot's Mission: Space. After only four years, the attraction would morph into Mission to Mars, which lasted almost 20 years before being replaced by Disney World's scariest attraction.
