Homeland Security Sec. Mayorkas appoints new acting director to ICE

In a notice sent to congressional staffers Wednesday, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas announced that Patrick Lechleitner will serve as Acting Director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. Lechleitner previously served as Acting Executive Associate Director for ICE investigations. ICE has not had a Senate-confirmed director since the Obama administration.
