It triggered a lot of traumatic memories for Maret Jaks when the serial killer, Paul Bernardo, was granted permission to be downgraded from a Maximum Security prison to an “open campus” medium security prison. You see, Maret had helped the mother of one of the victims of this murderer during the trial process, during the most horrific aspects of the trial where she sat with Debbie Mahaffy as the courtroom listened to the tapes of her daughter being tortured. No decent person who heard those tapes would ever be the same again.
In this video podcast, Maret reads us the radio commentary she gave after the trial was over where she highlights that victims of murder INCLUDE the family and those who loved the victim. Our justice system is set up to protect the accused – as it should, as due process is critical – but it should also include a recognition of the families.
And serial killers and other violent criminals should not be granted the ability to continuously torture the families of their victims by using the parole board to get improved living conditions.

At NOT YOUR DONKEY, we bray freely! We align to neither the Far Left nor the Far Right. We prefer to abide by the wise words of Dr. Suess: Think left and think right, think low and think high. Oh the thinks we can think up if only we try!"
But, of course, given how the Woke Warriors behave these days, we'll be called all sorts of names simply because we are FREE RANGE THINKERS. See for yourself and find out why we're NOT YOUR DONKEY.
