How to tie a fishing knot: Palomar knot

How to tie a Palomar knot for fishing crappie, bass, walleye, pike and many other species of fish. In this video I show how and why to tie a Palomar knot on search baits like crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits. I am setup over multiple brush piles and fan casting with the Z-man micro chatterbait while fishing for large schools of crappie. The key with using the lighter lures (1/16oz. chatterbait) during the late summer is to let the lure fall in the water column. Crappie are suspended over deeper water during this time of the year, so in order to catch them you need to cover water and allow smaller lures time to sink to where the crappie are feeding in the water column.
