Fishing a STAINED River for Crappie (I should have started HERE)

After 3 days of running around the main part of Canyon Lake, Texas with very little to show for it (bluegill and small bass), I decided to run up the Guadalupe River in search of some post spawn crappie. The key to finding these fish was to find the stained water in the eddies of the river. These crappie were suspended on submerged timber between 12-20 feet of water...lesson learned.
