The Great Year

Why is it that Earth experiences catastrophic climate shifts, extinction level comet and asteroid strikes, great floods and/or major geological upheavals (super volcanos, pole shifts, etc.) about every 12,000 years? We can clearly see that these catastrophes do, in fact, happen on a regular basis whenever we study the geological record, and when we pay attention to the stories that were handed-down to us from the ancient past by our ancestors.

Even the so-called "flood stories" that almost every ancient culture seems to have their own version of, like the one mentioned in the Bible have now turned out to be 100% true. All you have to do is look at "Younger Dryas" limate catastrophe that happened 12,800 Years BP and Meltwater Pulse A and Meltwater Pulse B (likely Noah's flood) and the hundreds of cities that we have found under hundreds of feet of ocean water throughout the world for evidence of that. People don't build cities underwater, folks. There was a giant flood.

Why were our ancestors so preoccupied with recording and monitoring the Great Year Processional cycle of our planet through the Zodiacal Calendar? Could these two things be related?
