Many members of the Canadian Armed Forces have endured harassment, intimidation and were finally driven out of the military, because they would not allow themselves to have their bodily autonomy violated by and unlawful order. Harassment became rampant across the military, to the point where even pregnant members were being targeted by their chain of command.

Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in the world of military and veterans who deserve fair and equitable representation, Catherine Christensen formed the Valour Legal Action Centre to provide advocacy for issues specific to military service. She and her team are putting the power of the Charter of Rights and the laws of Canada back into the hands of those who swore to protect it by wearing the uniform.
