Gang crackdown in Honduras sees prisoners face brutal military control

In response to the brutal killing of 46 women prisoners by street gangs, the government of Honduras has declared a stern crackdown on these gangs.

The country’s armed forces have launched “Operation Faith and Hope” with the aim of “restoring control over the prisons.”

As part of this operation, the military police have assumed control of Honduran prisons, and photos have been shared on social media showing naked inmates sitting in rows with their legs apart during a raid conducted to confiscate contraband, the Daily Star reported.
