Western States 100 | 2023

The premier Ultra distance race every year in the USA is the Western States 100 Endurance Run. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the race, and the quality of racing did not disappoint.

Staged in somewhat cooler conditions the athletes headed out of Olympic Park start line at 5am on Saturday morning. With a race deadline of 30 hours a handful of the 379 starters in the 2023 edition of the race were hoping to reach the finish line in Auburn before the sun had set.

What started off as a pack in the first few miles quickly turned into a handful of hopefuls in the mens race taking the lead. On the women's side only American Katie Schide could keep pace with the sports women's phenom, Courtney Dauwalter.
