The New York City Department of Environmental Protection is reportedly drafting a rule that would require restaurants with brick and wood-fired ovens installed before 2016 to cut their carbon emissions by up to 75%. If these regulations are implemented, they would impose tight restrictions on pizzerias across the city. According to CNN, the new rules would potentially impact about 100 businesses citywide. New York City Mayor Eric Adams says the public still has time to weigh in on the new regulations, which, if approved, would go into effect later this summer.
