Juno Beach Landing June 6, 1944

The Canadian Army got the bulk of their tanks ashore on D-Day, giving them the edge. There were many amongst them that could speak French, giving them another asset to readily communicate with the locals. The Canadian Army made the greatest penetration inland on the first day of all the five landing armies.
