Faux Stone Sculpture Made with DIY Air Dry Clay

This faux stone sculpture was made with my DIY air dry clay recipe, plaster cloth, and insulation foam. It's a lightweight reproduction of a Mayan monkey hacha, found in Veracruz, Mexico.

For this project the air dry clay recipe was altered, just slightly, by using brown paper instead of toilet paper in the mix. Everything else, including all gram measurements, was the same as the original recipe. You can find the recipe here: https://youtu.be/YOiovGN-yHA

The silicone texture stamp video is here: https://youtu.be/jvNBi2t54gc

If you haven't seen the video that shows you how to make a pattern for a sculpture using the grid system, you can find it here: https://youtu.be/ywViyxgbPUg

You could use my paper mache clay recipe instead of the grout to seal the foam. To see how that looks on a foam giraffe sculpture, see this guest post on my blog: https://bit.ly/2VF2Wo0

You can find patterns for the wall sculptures and masks behind me in the videos here, including the new four-headdress set for the Lion King play: https://www.ultimatepapermache.com/patterns
