My daughter, Jessie Rasche, painted a paper mache Jersey cow sculpture made from my armature pattern. It really brings out the subtle changes in the shapes, and look completely different from my Holstein cow.

I learned three new things from Jessie's video that I didn't know before:

Jessie started painting her paper mache Jersey cow sculpture with acrylic gesso. She told me that one purpose of the gesso is to create a nice white ground, but another important reason she uses it is because the paint isn't absorbed as much, so she doesn't have to use as much paint.

Jessie paints every day. Some of her canvases are really big, and professional artists' acrylic paint is expensive. You can see why she'd want to use as little as possible!

She also saves her paint from one painting session to the next using a Sta-Wet Palette. The sponge at the bottom and the air-tight cover keeps her paint from drying out. You can see the palette on amazon.com here: https://amzn.to/2PhFsAJ

And I've already ordered the brush she's using in the video to make fast fur marks. You can see it on amazon here: https://amzn.to/2U6e7Fc
