At 23’, Luis Romo tallied his second goal off a header from inside the box after a corner kick by Jesús Gallardo. Halftime arrived 2-0. Orbelín Pineda scored at 52’ after a shot from the second of the box, widening Mexico’s lead. The fourth goal came at 64’ after Luis Chávez struck a left footed shot from the center of the box, and Mexico would finish with a 4-0 victory after two minutes of added time.
