Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the blessed knowledge that God forgives and redeems those who come to Him in repentance and obedience, no matter their past.

It's reasonable to be afraid that not taking a chance on an opportunity might hurt you in the future. After all, almost everyone has a story about something that would have made their life better if only they had done this-or-that instead of rejecting it.

Those who followed Jesus but denied him when he went to his crucifixion must have had that same feeling. Peter, one of Jesus' closest friends denied him three times. We can only imagine how Peter must have felt, returning to fishing after all that had happened.

Christians, too, can have the fear that they have done something or made choices in the past, lost opportunities from which there is no turning and a future that no longer deviates from tragedy.

God shows us through Jesus that this is not the case. Jesus redeems people even though they may have failed to take the right path long ago. He takes to himself all those people who have finally realized the path they chose to walk down was a 'dead end' in more ways than one.

Jesus offers a way back for those souls finally aware of their condition, and, surprisingly, it is a simple one. Turn around. Repent of the life lived foolishly and live in obedience to God and His Word. It's not too late, just turn around.
