Before we go any further, yes, that Diana. “Goin’ Diana” is what Nobodies Peshel considers a “metaphor of a metaphor”. The relative metaphor to “Goin’ Diana” would be “crashin’ out”; crashin’ out being used in reference to the car crash that took the life of the world renown Diana, Princess of Wales.

As tacky and unethical as it may seem, that’s Hip-Hop for you. Furthermore, its no less damaging than when Eminem used metaphors relative to who some people see as the true Superman; Christopher Reeve. But there is…as they say, “a method to the madness….”

“Crashin’ out” is a term used often in the Hip-Hop community to represent putting one’s family, firends, freedom, life, and livelihood on the line for trivial, unimportant things. Back in the day, people with that mentality were also known as “crash dummies”.

Therefore, “Goin’ Diana” addresses the “I’m crashin’ out” mentality from the perspective of an active Gang Banger (Piru) who is ALWAYS pressing his set’s line, always about that action, always willing to be a crash dummy, crash out, “Go Diana”.

Gang life can seductive, alluring. This goes into the second meaning of “Go Diana”. “Diana” (in context of the song) is the personification of the allure. She is “The Seductress”. She has what Master P master once called killer pussy. She has the power to make once great friends become mortal enemies with a drive to kill one another like beasts.
