Politically Disengaged Christian

To all my Christian and even non Christians friends and neighbors.

If you as a US citizen are sitting back in your little comfort zone and doing nothing to stand against the absolute tyranny that has engulfed our nation you are part of the problem. So many Americans are oblivious to what is happening in our nation right now and we are in danger of losing our country and you sit there twitting your thumbs.

Freedom requires sacrifice on many levels and if you’re not willing to make the sacrifice you deserve to lose your freedom. Our beloved America is hanging on by a thread. Think of all the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for this nation and you can’t even lift a finger to save her in her time of need.

This is especially true in the Churches where they isolate themselves and sing coom by ya while the world is going to hell in a hand basket. Pastors who won’t stand up for righteousness are nothing but gutless wonders that say nothing and do nothing about the evil that has taken over America. If you don’t stand for something you stand for nothing and you’re worthless. Instead of preaching and standing against sin you embrace it in the name of tolerance and sloppy agape love.

Without freedom you won’t be able to preach the gospel and then you will be forced to fight for the right or go underground. The great commission is in part dependent on your ability to spread the gospel and standing up for your country should be first priority so you can evangelize. This was the whole point of our founding fathers was to have the freedom to spread the gospel without the hindrance of the tyranny that existed in England at that time.

This may be hard for many of my Christian brothers and sisters to hear but it has to be said. Many Christians are too focused on themselves and their walk with God. For them it’s mainly about platitudes and attitudes and their struggles with sin. There’s nothing wrong with this but there is much more to Christianity. The love and forgiveness you have found in God should cause you to want others to have the same thing.

This involves many aspects of life. You not only want others to be saved but you should also want an atmosphere for that to happen. You should also want to see others mature in their faith and grow in knowledge and wisdom through the teaching of the Bible. What I see in the Church is a selfish Christianity. Many are focused on Church activities and have isolated themselves from the culture and world around them. As a result the world is becoming more and more anti God every day.

What good is the Church or an individual if they have lost their saltiness?
If you’re not willing to be a Mathew 10 Christian you are impotent and powerless.

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

Every Christian should confront sin and false doctrine in the world and this is found in Jude 1:3. When you earnestly contend for the faith it s like being in a fight to the finish and you should contend to win at all cost. This is not a game. We are not playing Church. Your faith should be in love but it should also be a confrontational faith that will stand for righteousness.

This is not about your personal comfort; it’s about the cause of Christ and others. You should be willing to put others before you. You should be willing to also make sacrifices for your country so that future generations can enjoy the freedom you now have.

The LORD will stand with those who are willing to fight for freedom and righteousness but He will turn His back on the coward who dies a thousand deaths every day.

Politics

Conflating your trust in God and your trust in man is a mistake. Trust in man is contingent on his submission to God and your ability to discern the difference. Trust in God is not contingent on God but you. If you are under submission to the Holy Spirit you can be trusted, but if not, you cannot be trusted.

The Bible is full of examples of kings-politicians who were under submission of the Holy Spirit to carry out the will of God in the kingdom. Daniel, Joseph, Cyrus, Nebuchadnezzar and even the king of Babylon over Zedekiah were all used by God in the political arena. King Zedekiah disobeyed God by not submitting to the king of Babylon and as a result all of his sons were killed and he had his eyes put out and he was killed also.

To say that Christians shouldn’t be involved in politics and the affairs of men is a contradiction of God’s Word and a flaw in your interpretation and thinking. If you look out into the real world and your interpretation of God’s word doesn’t fit real life situations you must adjust your thinking and not adjust the Bible to your thinking. To even further this point, you must not try and convince others of your own flaws in the interpretation of God’s word lest you be held accountable for misleading God’s children.

Even bad rulers can be part of the will of God and if is ok with Him it should be ok with us.

What should be considered number one on every Christians “to do” list is to preach the gospel to others. By being in submission to higher powers you are able to preach the gospel even if they are evil. Submission doesn’t mean abeyance necessarily. It’s harder to preach the gospel to the masses if you’re in jail. Submission frees you up to spread the gospel even if it is behind closed doors.

It was actually Gods will that king Zedekiah be submitted to the king of Babylon. Why? Because Judah had been disobedient to the Lord and deserved His punishment. Kiss the paddle and don’t whine about it-it’s a sign that God loves you and He is willing to take the time to chastise you and get you back on track. This applies to a nation or an individual.

The ideal situation is to have the freedom that America has provided to spread the gospel and it should be defended to the last man. We have almost lost this precious freedom while the Church has stood by and let it happen in the name of separation of church and state. Also the threat of the removal of 501C3 status has cut them off at the knees. Pastors have kept their mouths shut for way to long and it’s time to speak out before it’s too late.

We should never be involved in the dirty game of partisan politics but we should stand for righteous principles and back those who stand for righteousness. Pastors can use these guidelines with wisdom and be involved in every aspect of leadership in government. Instead they choose to sit back and say nothing out of fear. Faith is the opposite of fear and fear is an enemy of the cause of Christ. We don’t lose ground we take it.

By all definitions America has gone into captivity under a foreign power just as the children of Israel.

America is in a unique situation, usually power is either taken by force or elected into office in a republic or a democracy. But the current leaders in America have taken power by fraud. There are only two choices we have to take power back or lose it forever. You may answer the question in your own mind.

>Now read the words of Paul below with understanding and realize YHVH is in control; In light of that He still gives us the freedom to make our own choices

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

Thomas Jefferson 1802 the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution,
To messers. Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson, a committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut.
Gentlemen
The affectionate sentiments of esteem and approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful and zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, & in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more and more pleasing.
Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole

American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.

Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.

I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem.
Thomas Jefferson
Jan. 2. 1802.
Jefferson wrote back that religious liberty, free from state tampering, would be a key part of the American vision. The Constitution, he wrote, would “restore to man all his natural rights.” In this same letter, Jefferson explained the intent of the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution, which reads: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” This, he said, built a “wall of separation of church and state.”
Jefferson was not suggesting that religious people or religious motivations should be exiled from public debate. As a matter of fact, the letter was from a religious people appealing to an elected official for their rights — an elected official who, by the way, attended church services during his administration inside the United States Capitol.
In its day, a constitutional prohibition that the state would not establish or restrain personal faith was truly revolutionary. Sadly, in many countries today, religious freedom is still revolutionary. America has the obligation to live this truth and demonstrate the depth of this powerful human right.
