Children are Life

I'm not a perfect father. Sometimes I speak harshly, sometimes I don't pay enough attention to the Lego creation or the TV show recount. But I love all five of the children we have and want to see them thrive and go out into the world with confidence in the love that exists for them at home.

One of the most heart wrenching things for me is to be in the supermarket and see parents berating kids who are only 6 or 7. And I get that we all have bad days, but the signs of systemic abuse are evident in these young souls. The diminished space, the flinching at their parents words. It hurts so terribly.

I can't help them. But if one parent listens to this and gives their child a hug or a word of praise, or explains that the relationship or money worries are not their fault, that would be something.
