Prosecutors drop charges against mom, 14-year-old son in killing of man at hot dog stand

In light of “emerging evidence,” prosecutors have made the decision to dismiss murder charges against a woman and her 14-year-old son.

Less than a week ago, the woman was accused of instructing her son to kill a man who had allegedly assaulted her at a hot dog stand on the South Side, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Carlishia Hood, aged 35, had previously appeared in court last Thursday, facing charges of first-degree murder and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
