Honduras pool hall shooting may be linked to prison massacre that killed 46

On Monday, Honduras initiated a large-scale prison sweep similar to that of El Salvador, resulting in the arrest of a suspect involved in a pool-hall shooting that claimed the lives of 11 individuals on Saturday.

Authorities have begun investigating the possibility that the pool-hall shooting was an act of revenge following a gang-related massacre of 46 female inmates at a women’s prison last week, which stands as one of the most horrific incidents at such a facility in recent memory.

The Honduran government has made a commitment to combat gang violence and has implemented curfews as part of its efforts, the Associated Press has reported.
