It's as though San Francisco has turned into a hot tourist destination for drug-addicted transients, eager to take advantage of the city's lenient drug policies and the plentiful supply of cheap narcotics. Unfortunately for the law-abiding citizens, the city's lax approach to crime seems to have turned it into a free-for-all for thieves and burglars, forcing more businesses to go cashless and exacerbating the problem.

What's more, it's not just the crime that's turning people's stomachs - it's the literal filth. The city streets are now home to an interactive 'poop map', a truly modern marvel illustrating the locations of reported incidents of human defecation. Yes, you read that correctly - the sidewalks of San Francisco have been turned into an open-air lavatory by the city's 'unhoused' residents. If that isn't a wake-up call, I don't know what is. So next time you're reading another teary-eyed puff piece about the tough times facing the homeless, remember: in San Francisco, the only thing going down the drain faster than the city itself is its residents' sense of decorum and decency.
