EU Chief: Wagner Group insurrection reveals ‘cracking’ within Russia’s political system

Josep Borrell, Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Chief of the European Union, said the Wagner Group’s armed revolt against Russian President Vladimir Putin over the weekend shows political and military power in the country is “cracking.” Speaking to reporters outside a Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg Monday, Borrell warned that it is “not a good thing” when a nuclear power such as Russia faces political instability.
