The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge that spans Tampa Bay in Florida, United States. It connects St. Petersburg in Pinellas County to Terra Ceia in Manatee County and has a total length of 21,877 feet (4.1 miles). The bridge was originally built in 1954 as a two-lane bridge but was replaced with a new four-lane bridge in 1987 due to safety concerns. It has been featured in several movies and TV shows and is considered one of Florida's iconic landmarks. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge has a toll plaza on the Pinellas County side that collects tolls from both directions.
