I was very relieved when I made this video. We recorded it just AFTER John had successfully completed his maiden flight with his PPG at Semiahmoo Bay just off the Pacific Ocean.

It was a great evening to say the least with amazing scenery and a very cool RC Plane for the location!

The video is just the third I have posted of me flying the Parkzone Sport Cub S2 Parkflyer, which was modeled after the Cub Crafters Sport Cub. I believe the specific model is the CubCrafters CC11-100 Sport Cub S2.

I recently helped a buddy maiden his HobbyKing Durafly Tundra and as much as I love my Sport Cub, I think I like that plane better. It has more power, a better prop, bigger tires, and it comes with floats!

On the Parkzone website, they describe this plane this way:

"The full-scale Cub Crafters Sport Cub is an inspired reinvention of the Piper Super Cub that is introducing a whole new generation of aviators to the wonder and excitement of back country flying.

The ParkZone® Sport Cub park flyer is a fantastic recreation of this aerial adventure machine that will open a new world of possibilities for RC pilots too. Constructed of durable, lightweight Z-Foam™ material, it shares many of the same aerodynamic features that give the full-scale version its light wing loading and superb short field abilities. Oversized tundra tires for flying off grass and other rough surfaces are included. Those in search of the ultimate RC bush flying experience have the option of adding floats and functional flaps.

This Plug-N-Play or PNP version can be flight-ready in the time it takes to install a receiver and charge a battery."

This is a more advanced alternative to the Hobbyzone Super Cub LP as it is BL and has ailerons, which is basically a really big version of a Hobbyzone Champ trainer plane in the form of a Piper Cub (Piper PA-18 or Piper J-3 Cub).

This looks like a big version of the BNF E-flite UMX Carbon Cub. That too has flaps and an attractive trim scheme. And really it is a lot like a little bit smaller version of the E-flite Carbon-Z Cub. It however is a much different plane than the Hangar 9 Super Cub version and I realize I am not ready for such a plane! I also realize from my Hangar 9 Super Cub that Hangar is not spelled Hanger as in Hanger 9.

The main motivation for this purchase was due to the success of my recent successes with my E-flite P-51 Mustang videos. Ultimately I enjoyed flying the park flyer sized plane A LOT more, so when Horizon Hobby had its big sale recently, this was the only plane this size that I hadn't already bought.

While this plane is no longer available, it has been largely replaced by the E-flite Timber, which was successful enough to have them make a UMX Timber. That was so successful that the have now made an E-flite Turbo Timber. You can't make this up! lol

I am just happy flying my E-flite Viper and my E-flite Night Radian these days.
