The archaeological museum in Kütahya, where artefacts unearthed in the ancient city of Aizanoi in Çavdarhisar district are exhibited, reflects the Roman history of the region.
Some artefacts, especially the marble sundial found during the excavations carried out in the last two years in the ancient city, started to be exhibited in the museum.
The sarcophagus of the Amazons, part of which was unearthed during the illegal excavation of treasure hunters in 1990 and completely recovered during the rescue excavation carried out by the Kütahya Museum Directorate, attracts the attention of those who see it with its 1900 years of history and durability.
The sarcophagus, on which there are figures depicting the struggle between Greek soldiers and Amazonian women warriors, is among the most important artefacts that attract attention in the museum.
